Best NHS A&E Waiting Times since 2011
Accident and emergency waiting time statistics were recently published and show the best June performance since 2011. This is especially true of NHS Lothian where 95.5% of accident and emergency patients were seen within four hours. Also, nationally, Scottish accident and emergency performance has remained better than elsewhere in the UK for the last 15 months of published data, from March 2015 to May 2016.
Local SNP MSP Gordon Macdonald welcomed these results stating: “Across the Lothians, staff in our NHS have been working hard to provide care to patients who need it. Their efforts have clearly paid off as can be seen in the June A&E waiting time figures.
“The Scottish Government have set a target of 95% of accident and emergency patients being seen within four hours and I am pleased to see that NHS Lothian is beating this target.
“Accident and emergency services are used by everyone at some point during their life and I want to make sure they keep on improving.”
